PREMIER DIVISION

Two games went ahead with Barrow Town netting a two goal to nil win against Quorn Juniors with goals from Lewis Burnip and Chris Sissling.

Narborough put on a great late show to gain a hard earned draw away at Mowbray. The home side was first into their stride and took the lead in the opening minutes with a well struck drive from Mark Cowling Narborough had most of the their advantage Into the second half and playing with the aid of the elements and slope Narborough drew level when the keeper could only parry Zak Ainscough's drive and Josh Kirby was following up to slide the ball home. Mowbray came straight back and took a 3-1 advantage with two poachers finishes from their centre forward, but Narborough kept battling and a misjudgement from their goalie allowed Sarjan Patel to reduce the deficit. Then Sam Stancombe got the vital touch to a kick to make the score3-3. There were chances at both ends in the closing stages but a draw was probably a fair result to an entertaining match played in good spirit by both sides.

DIVISION ONE
The first game of the new league campaign saw Loughborough Dynamo take on Mowbray Rangers at Nanpantan Sports Ground. Rangers started brightly taking the game to Dynamo, and with their first attack forced a corner which was cleared from danger only to fall at the feet of Mowbray's Simon Alcott whose blistering shot from 30 yards flew narrowly over Dynamos cross bar. This was the wakeup call Dynamo needed and gradually they started to control the midfield with swift, sharp passing and good wing play. Dynamo almost took the lead after 10 minutes when Josh Buchanan's lofted effort from 20 yards beat the Mowbray Sam Pollard in the Mowbray goal but cannoned back off the crossbar and was hooked to safety. The breakthrough came on 25 minutes, when Karl Whymark raced clear and lifted the ball over the advancing Pollard into an empty net. Five minutes later it was two when Whymark again eluded the Mowbray defence to coolly beat the keeper and take a healthy lead into half time. Dynamos were looking good down both flanks with Asif Uddin and Tarek El-Ahmar working tirelessly.

The second half saw the introduction of Alan Lee, returning from a summer long injury lay off and it wasn't long before he was showed his pace down the right wing with a run that beat two opponents. Dynamos third came 6 minutes into the half when last season's top scorer, Buchanan, beat the keeper to head his first of the season. Two minutes later it was 4, when Whymarks left footed corner was superbly met by the head of Lee to give the keeper no chance and open his account for the season.

Dynamo now seemed to be in complete control, and were rarely threatened, with the central defensive trio of Rob Reeve, Sofian Dhifalah and skipper Grant Ryder soaking up everything the visitors could throw at them, backed up by keeper David Walker who was rarely troubled throughout the game. Whymark almost grabbed his hat-trick and Dynamos fifth on 58 minutes, but Pollard was in fine form to deny a certain goal. Callum McCallion was orchestrating the midfield superbly, ably assisted by the hardworking Danny Hullett and new summer signing Patrick Hardy and on sixty minutes good work from the central midfield fed Whymark whose cross was headed home by Buchanan to demoralise the visitors. Dynamo got their sixth on 70 minutes when Hardy found space to stroke the ball home to cap a fine league debut Dynamo had to play out the last 10 minutes of the game with only ten men, when Ryder limped off with a suspected calf strain, but Dynamo reorganised and never looked in trouble right up to the final whistle. The win puts them in top position.

Shepshed join one of three teams that have started the season with 3 points the other team is Mountsorrel Juniors who at the weekend disposed of Ellistown Youth with a two -nil win goals from Conner Saunders and Conner Simon, Wigston's home game against Shepshed fell foul to the weather.

DIVISION TWO
Kegworth Imps made an impressive debut in the "Leicestershire Youth League" with a convincing victory over Caterpillar Youth. Caterpillar started strongly after a good win on the opening day of the season the previous week and a mix up in the home defence soon gifted them the lead. The Imps bounced back strongly and soon found an equalising goal, when John Bowles nicked the ball passed the keeper after a good through ball from Karl Beswick, soon Kegworth were in the lead as good closing down from the home strikers left Ryan Salmon an easy tap in to open his account for the season. Bowles added his second of the game to extend the home sides advantage, hitting a powerful shot that the keeper couldn't keep out of his net. Despite these setbacks the Caterpillar side kept pushing forward and were back in the game just before the break when the ball eluded the grasp of the home keeper and found the back of the net. The first goal of the second half was always going to be important, and it went to The Imps, Bowles breaking down the left and crossing the ball into the six yard box, a visiting defender hit his clearance straight at his goalkeeper, who could do nothing as the ball cruelly deflected into his own net. Again the visitors showed their spirit as they fought their way back into the game, scoring from a free kick into the box that evaded the keeper and was turned in by the Caterpillar striker. Kegworth again pushed forward, and this time two quick goals finally ended Caterpillars resistance. Sam Gee delivered a perfect corner onto the head of Rhys Kearton for the first, before popping up himself at the far post to finish a flowing move from the home side and seal the points for Kegworth on their U16 debut.

Leaders Harborough Town made it two wins out of two with a 3 - 2 win at Highfield Rangers Bradley Eden and Dhiren Desai on target for the home side.

Barrow Town controlled much of the first half against Ibstock United Youth, scoring after 5 minutes with a deep cross from the left and the charging centre half lunging to be first but bundling the ball into his own net. Ten minutes later a loose ball-chase by Tom Carr ended with his low shot past the advancing keeper. Ibstock's pressure finally paid off at the end of the first half with a close shot from a corner. There was no further scoring in the second half but only because the long curling shot by Ibstock was tipped away from the top corner by a spectacular save from Keiran Allen ensuring maximum points for the home side. Burbage Old Boys are on level terms with the leaders but miss out on goals scored, Sunday saw them come away from Birstall United with all the points after winning 4 - 1 with goals from Sam Hodgkin (2), Matt Draper and Ryan Cheshire. Waltham Athletic are in third with three points after recovering from the opening day loss to dispatch Whestone Juniors home with a 6 - 1 thrashing, Adam Hutton led the way with a hat-trick followed by goals from Rob Green, Alex Cragg and James Bowen.
