Owls in an open & attacking game. With a strong wind at their backs Barrow
dominated the 1st half hitting the post twice & taking the lead in the 26th

it took an excellent save from goalkeeper Richard Hawkes & dogged defending
from the Owls defence, with David Fallows & Mo Dhadli prominent, to keep the

hour groby broke the deadlock through Michael Vickers claiming his sixth goal
of the season. Another goal from Ryan Haycock before half time made it 2-0 going
into the break. Groby then produced some fine football in the second half which
Fleckney were unable to handle. Groby's goals in the second half were scored by

The Foxes opened the scoring with Jake Paget heading home a Clayton Smith cross
after persistent pressure from Caldecote. Caldcote continued to push forward and
were awarded a penalty when Taj Bains was brought down in the box. Bains brushed
himself down to slot the ball into the bottom corner sending the Oadby keeper
the wrong way. The second half continued were the first left off and it was only
a matter of time until Caldecote added to their lead. Joe Moult scored to put
the game all but out of Oadby's reach heading powerfully into the back of the
net after good work from Joel Jones created the opening. This was a spirited and
encouraging performance from an in-from Caldecote team. Blaby & Whetstone
are the team to beat with another three points in the bag after a 4 - 2 win over
Ratby Sports goals from Zak Woolman, an own goal and Liam Burden with a brace

DIVISION ONE With only
one fixture surviving the deluge previously unbeaten Loughborough Dynamo came
unstuck when they lost for the first time this season going down 3 - 2 to Gilmorton
Juniors with Miles Splevings grabbing a superb hat-trick to set up the win. DIVISION
TWO In this keenly contested match Barrow took on local rivals Kegworth
Imps Barrow went ahead in the first half after Jack Slawson was first to a though
ball to lift the ball over the keeper into the top left corner. Kegworth came
out in the second half with real intent to get the equaliser and went close on
a number of occasions. This left gaps at the back proven on a counter-attack when
Lewis Fraser latched onto a left wing cross and turned outside the box to volley
over the advancing keeper. Kegworth felt hard done to and continued with their
advance but the Barrow back four protected their keeper well. Another well crafted
break-away saw Fraser cross to the unmarked Slawson to slot home a third. The
midfield tussle of the 2 best players Barrow's Dan Vyner and Kegworth's Rhys Kearton
ended with a headed consolation goal from the latter at the end of the game. Caterpillar
s & s were 4 - 2 winners over Ibstock United Youth with Jordan Spoors (2)
and Ben Ryecroft (2) netting for the home side. Burbage Old Boys continue to make
the running after a 2 - 1 home win over Harborough Town their goals were scored
by Sam Hodgkin and Sean Astill, second placed Waltham Athletic Continued their
good form with a 4 - 0 win at Birstall United, Whetstone Juniors won on the road
at Highfield Rangers with a 2 - 1 win Lewis Mistry netting for Highfield Rangers.
DIVISION THREE Leaders
Bushby United the only team with 100% record kept the good run going with a 3
- 0 win over Anstey Swifts goals came from Tom Smith(brace) and Jake Domingo,
Thurmaston Magpies are hard on the trail with a 2 - 0 win at Royce Rangers 2005.
Borough Alliance netted a 2 - 1 win over Allexton and Tennant with James Cooper
and Nick Bell scoring for the home side Kegworth never found top gear as visitors
Barrow Town cruised to a comfortable victory last Sunday. Town took the lead in
the first half after a slip from a home defender left the Barrow player, one on
one with the home keeper and he finished coolly. A number of misplaced passes
meant that The Imps created very little in front of goal, there best chase being
a powerful free kick that deflected kindly into the keepers arms. The half
time break brought no change of fortune for the home side, and as the half wore
on, The Imps switched to a three man defence, but it was Barrow who took advantage
of the tactical change from Kegworth, adding two more goals in quick succession.
This finally woke Kegworth from their slumber, and they started to put some pressure
on the visitors defence. Chances came and went for the home side before Rhys Kearton
netted with just six minutes to play. The Imps threw everything at Barrow, but
Town held firm to win three well deserved points. Westfield showed that they have
it in them to do well this season with some glimpses of exceptional football,
however, there were moments that we showed that we need to concentrate at the
back and support from the midfield. The two strikers both scored great hat-tricks
and single goals from both Cameron Morton and Joe Findlay saw Westfield through
to a well deserved victory. Further goals could have been added but for some outstanding
saves from the Barwell Keeper. DIVISION FOUR Cosby looking
to make it six straight wins got off to a sloppy start in the first 10 minutes
It took right back Jacob Hibbert to lift his team by winning possession and going
on a 50 yrd barn storming run to provide Chris Musson with his first goal. Cosby
always looked on top with Conner Tanner Marshalling the defence allowing Kieran
Matthews and Jordy Hodgson to run Loughborough ragged, Kieran scoring the second
and Chris Musson making it three just before half time. The second half was a
one was one way street, Loughborough heads were down, Jordy scored two and Cosby
should have scored a hatful in the last 10 minutes but Loughborough keeper made
a couple of outstanding saves, along with some bad finishing. George Bentley did
score his first league goal with a well taken effort. Loughborough managed a consolation
goal with 8 minutes left. Man of the Match Jordy could not secure his hat trick
but not for the lack of trying. So Cosby 6 from 6 cementing their top spot and
looking like a good season in prospect. Second placed Houghton beat Countesthorpe
Athletic 03 4-0. Houghton scored the first goal from a free kick after just 90
seconds. James Boden supplied the cross and Ben Stephens tapped it in from close
range. Houghton doubled the lead when Boden scored a great goal from about 30
yards that gave the keeper no chance. After the break Houghton continued to press
even though playing into the wind. Boden got his second and Tom Wells scored from
close range for number four, Birstall Community college netted the highest win
with a 7 - 1 demolition of Shakka FC with Joel Johnson (2), Will West, Jordan
Blackshaw, Ashley Newcombe, a Own goal & Ross Masterson completing the scoring.
Stanton United 2003 recorded their first win of the season when they completely
out played Countesthorpe Athletic with a 4 - 0 win, goals from Kieran Buck, Ricky
Johnson, Matthew Whawell and Jason Nuttall did the damage for Stanton.
